This is !Verbs version 1.00
---------------------------
This is program, it's Help program (written by Loring) and the Interface
module (written by Simon Huntington) are independant of each other and
purely Public Domain as long as no code or data is changed in any way.
This program translates verbs between French and English. Load in the usual
way and click on the new icon on the iconbar. The main window will come up.
Enter the verb you want to translate in the top box. Use lower case letters
only and do not put 'to' in front of it (ie. 'enter' not 'to enter').
However, if the verb has a 'be' in front of it, include this so use 'be able'
and not 'to be able'. Do not use accented letters, just use the letter
without the accent otherwise the computer will not recognise the word.
Select which way you want to translate it by clicking on the relevant radio
icon and then click on translate. The computer will look up the verb in it's
284 verb vocabulary and come back with the translation. If it does not know
the verb or you have spelt it wrongly or you have selected the wrong
translation direction, the program will say 'Verb not known' in the
translation box.
A reduced version of the above paragraph is available if you click on the
help icon in the bottom left corner of the window.
Of course, I primarily aimed this program at schools but anyone can use it
because it's public domain.
